Who are Akasha?
It is our intention, as a group, to facilitate opportunities for members of
the pagan community in and around Edinburgh, old and new, to access and share
information, experiences and support.
To this end, we host monthly workshops on a variety of subjects associated with
the core concepts of the pagan path. We seek also to continue the work we have
begun over the past 6 years in the areas of befriending work and, as and when
possible, meaningful communal rituals.
Akasha was originally formed during the summer of 2000 in an effort to not only
meet others of a similar spiritual outlook but to see if we could come together
to benefit from each others' ideas and methodologies. Almost seven years later,
we continue to offer our unique brand of alternative adult community-based education.
We try to operate within an equal opportunity framework, in so far as we are
able. We recognise that unfortunately some people may not be able to attend
due to physical access or childcare considerations. These issues will be born
in mind when planning future events.
Akasha is a non-profit voluntary disorganisation that relies on the resources
and seemingly endless energy of our contributors and attendees. Nobody at Akasha
is an expert. None of us have all the answers, we simply share the experience
of seeking them.
If you are interested in participating in an Akasha event (our motto is "high
camp, low magick!") and would like to find out more, please e-mail us at akasha.edinburgh@googlemail.com for details of our forthcoming programme.
